On
Thursday 12th Dec 2024 was a very sad day for all of us as Tootsie
crossed the rainbow bridge.
She
had lived as part of our family for almost 38 years and had was close to
turning 40. Her little body had been doing so well and a few days before her
crossing, she stopped eating and would only eat lucerne. However, on Thursday
she stopped eating even her lucerne and had also stopped grazing and was really
looking extremely frail and uncomfortable. I had to call our amazing vet Dr
Hennie Boonzaaier to come out and help her cross. We were all with her as she
crossed the rainbow bridge.
Tootsie
came into our lives as a two-year-old little girl. She brought so much love,
fun and laughter to us. She excelled in the showring and won quite a few prizes
over the years. She competed in the Pretoria International show as well as the
Horse of the Year show and many others. I remember one in particular when she
won the fancy-dress competition at the Horse of the Year show many years ago.
The
best part of this was how much the judge laughed when Tootsie entered the show
ring. He couldn't look at any of the other contestants after seeing her and
only had eyes for Tootsie. He couldn't even stand he was laughing so much.

Over
the years she entered many shows and won some amazing prizes.
This
is Tootsie in her prime at the Pretoria International Show. Here you see her
with Penny who was her best friend at the time. They used to compete together.

She
later moved on to children's parties and would go in the back of our car
(almost causing accidents when people realised it was a horse in the car and
not a dog) to children's parties where she would offer then rides (as long as
they were not too heavy)
Here
you see her getting into the spirit at a children's fancy-dress party where she
entertained all the children and their parents. She was extremely popular and
in great demand.

She
then moved on to helping me with my animal communication workshops where she
taught many people both adults and children how to communicate on a telepathic
level and she taught them all about healing animals using telepathic
techniques.
Many
people learned a lot from her and received many profound messages over the
years.

Tootsie
was the most gentle, sensitive and extremely wise little horse and everybody
that met her fell in love with her.
When
Henry joined the family, he became completely bonded with Tootsie and would
walk with her wherever she would go. He was never far from her at any time.
He
really is missing her and I really feel for him as she was his rock.

Tootsie
was the smallest horse but was the herd leader and wouldn't take any nonsense
from any of the others. She ruled with a rod of iron.
Tootsie
and I had an extremely close bond and I am really going to miss her.

Thank
you Toots for all the years of love and fun you gave me and thank you for being
such a special member of our family.
I
will never forget you. You will always live on in my heart and my thoughts. I
know you are with Penny, Ballinor, Red, and all the others that crossed before
you. I know you are kicking up a storm on the other side and I also know that
you are right here with us.
We
will feel your spirit in the wind and we will feel you in the sun the moon and
the stars. You are the brightest star in the sky and always will be.
Until
we meet again my special, beautiful and amazing horse. I will love you for
ever.
Fly
high with the angels my little princess and just know that you were and still
are very loved by all of us.
